WDMA Applauds EPA for Reforming "Sue and Settle" Procedures

[Washington, DC] -  The Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) is applauding Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt for a directive making needed reforms to the way EPA enters into settlement agreements.  Commonly known as "sue and settle," the process allowed the agency and the party that filed the legal challenge to agree in principle on the terms of a consent decree or settlement before the public had the opportunity to review the terms of the agreement.  This was process that was used in 2010 that led to the removal of the "opt-out" provision of the Lead: Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule (RRP).  WDMA strongly opposed its removal.

WDMA Announces New Portal to Speed Evaluation Reports of WDMA Hallmark Certified Products to Texas Department of Insurance 

[Chicago, IL] - The Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) will release next month the third phase of the WDMA Hallmark Certification Programs Client Information Portal (CIP) to facilitate an electronic method to submit and process an application for a Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Evaluation Report.  This system, which is available to any manufacturers certifying products under the WDMA Hallmark Program, should help shorten the time it takes TDI to produce an evaluation report. Read more.
